My question is how do I make the velocity a little higher & still get the random/human feeling hits? I bump the velocity up a little & look at the sequence in piano roll view & all the MIDI I just dragged over is the exact same velocity. The problem is it sounds a little too weak. I use EZdrummer for lots of blast beats & double bass & when I leave the velocity knob to the default position it plays with random velocity. I'm guessing it has something to do with the velocity knob issue you described above. I'm having some issues with EZdrummer that are easily fixed I'm sure. It can be used that way to emphasize "ghost strokes" in such a way that they almost become mini fills at the end of a phrase. It also make the same offset affect the midi data in a drag and drop operation. However, if you change the velocity knob in EZdrummer, it will audition the groove with a velocity offset in direct relationship to your change. It simply varies the samples so that you never get a repeat of a sample back to back, such as a machine gun effect. It has nothing to do with Drag and drop activity either. The Humanize feature doesn't have anything to do with either velocity or quantization of the grooves.
